California Democrats and Feds Responsible for Dam Failure
Jerry Brown placed California on notice in April of 2016 that the state was in "permanent drought". Only an arrogant left wing ass would say such a thing. Not long after he said this, it started raining in California....and it has not stopped! I see God in many things, and this is one of them. God is saying, "Hey Jerry, you idiot, you are NOT the Man here deciding who is and who isn't in a state of permanent drought!" God has a way of slapping you upside the head when you get arrogant. I know, he's done it to me several times!
You can see the pictures online: Oroville dam overflowing, breaking apart, unable to hold back the tons and tons of water spilling over its top and its emergency spillways, endangering 200,000 residences below the dam. In 2005, three environmental groups filed motions with the Federal Energy Requlatory Commission urging the Federal Officials to armor the dam's spillway with concrete instead of leaving earthen. They said that not doing so could, in certain environmental circumstances, cause "loss of crest control" and would potentially create flooding to communities below. They were ignored. FERQ says cost was unnecessary and concerns were overblown. Arrogance once again.
Then God showed up in 2017. Just 12 years later. Not long in "God Time", right? And all the circumstances that the environmentalists said could happen, did happen. It rained like hell. The snow melted. They lost crest control, which is considered dam failure, in other words. The dam is breaking apart. It's "hitting the fan". Now Jerry Brown says that it's going to cost 200 million to fix this one dam. come on, Jerry. Nothing you screw up costs $200 million. It'll be $2 billion before its all done.
So now, even though there is obviously no drought and our lakes and reservoirs are at capacity up and down the state, Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown won't say the drought is over because if doesn't fit his plan. His plan was to charge people big bucks in taxes on water because of the drought. But he has FAILED because THERE IS NO DROUGHT. Jerry started to move on his drought tax plan last year by instituting massive mandatory cuts in water usage with the idea that nobody could possibly live up to the new restrictions, and they would make big bucks on the "overage" fines. People had to cut water usage 25%. They cut more than that. Hmmm. That didn't work, says Jerry. Then, in a classic Democrat move, they had to increase rates on water because people weren't using as much, so the states Departments of Water didn't have the revenue they needed to meet their expenses - in other words, outrageous salaries and pension costs. That's right...people used less water, and were penalized for it! Classic Democrat run state! Don't cut personnel or reduce overblown retirement payments - just tax people more. Always the answer for a Democrat - raise taxes or create new ones.
Stay tuned as there will be more insanity to report on California's resource management and insane taxes on business and individuals.
